Guesthouse and Gardens in South Tipperary

John and Breeda Moran welcome you to their Georgian farmhouse which is approached up a driveway off the R665 Clogheen to Ardfinnan road. It nestles under the Knockmealdown Mountains and has magnificent views of the Galty, Comeragh and Slievenamon mountain ranges. 'The Vee' pass is a breathtaking and photogenic scenic mountain drive through the Knockmealdowns (on the R668). It can also be seen from our gardens. The river Tar, famous for its brown trout, runs through our farm on its way to join the river Suir about eleven kilometres to the west.

The house is surrounded by four acres of garden, both formal and informal, and seventy-five acres of woodland with walks created throughout the native hardwood trees.

The gardens are open to the public and contain a large variety of shrubs, roses and many other flowers. A lake encourages wildlife whilst other water features compliment the gardens. A productive kitchen garden is also included.

Within the grounds are the ruins of Ballyboy Castle.

Fishing permits for the river Suir can be arranged as can horse-riding, golf and many other country persuits. The house is ideally suited for walking, either on the hills or in the valley, and guides are available.
